The swim skin controversy has heated up since the press release has gone out about FINA approving our long sleeved design. It seems to have put swimmers at odds with each other, some feeling that technology should be limited and others that welcome it with the advance of equipment in other sports.
I guess the big question is where should the line be drawn? As long as swimmers have to wear something there can be advantage in some materials over others, all beit a small difference.
Regardless, our perspective at Rocket Science Sports is to challenge and push the limits of performance yet keep them within the legally stated boundries within the sport we are making our products for. FINA has approved our swim skins so we are fine with that.
So now we have an onslaught of swim teams and individuals interested in testing the most advanced suit on the market, go figure. Among those knocking on our door include a bunch of current world record holders and Beijing medalists. This Friday I am travelling to a swim competition in College Station Texas to meet with some swim teams that have asked to test our skins.
Outside of this we are trying our best to tie up some last minute skinsuit orders for early delivery in '09. Those dealers who wait to order will be out of luck as it seems demand may rapidly grow over the holiday season, but our production numbers have to be based on what orders we have now. So if you are a dealer, and you want to get on board, please contact us asap for pricing. sales@rocketsciencesports.com
